Hey there, Bar.B! This is most probably because your WD My Book for Mac is formatted in HFS+, which is the file system that Mac OS works with and it's no wonder that your PC won't recognize it.

What you can do here is re-format it on your Mac in FAT32 to use in both Windows and Mac OS X. If you have any kind of data on it, I recommend to back it up because re-formatting it and changing the file system will erase everything that is on the drive. Taking the SATA drive out of the enclosure would void the warranty of the WD My Book. What you can do instead is contact our tech support and let them know about your issue. We have WD My Book that is formatted in NTFS for use in Windows. Ask them if you could replace your current My Book for Mac with one for Windows.
